1More Dual Driver ANC PRO (EHD9001BA) – Even More Bass & Treble

1More Dual Driver ANC PRO (EHD9001BA) – Even More Bass & Treble

1More Dual Driver ANC PRO also named EHD9001BA gives us the chance to see a comeback of the necklace type IEMs in the wild! They are priced at 150 USD, and will be compared to other similarly priced TWS and Bluetooth IEMs, like Master & Dynamic MW07 TWS IEMS (150 USD), Sennheiser M2 IEBT (200 USD), and Shuoer Tape PRO (150 USD).

Introduction

1More is a huge name in audio, popular with pretty much everyone, from beginners all the way to acquainted professional listeners (is there such a thing even?). They made some of the world’s most tricky, odd yet working audio products, including their 1More Triple Driver Headphones, 1 More Quad Driver IEMs, and 1More Stylish TWS IEMs. I actually would’ve included Stylish in the competitors list, but they are not expensive enough for this, being priced at just 100 USD. All in all, 1More provides a good warranty, they can be purchased through Amazon (please do so if your budget allows, using my links gives me bread for the next day), and their products are generally fairly reliable.

It should be noted that I have absolutely no affiliation with 1More, I am not receiving any incentive for this review or to sweeten things out. I’d like to thank 1More for providing the sample for this review. Every opinion expressed is mine and I stand by it, the purpose of this review is to help those interested in 1More Dual Driver ANC PRO find their next music companion.

Packaging

First things first, let’s get the packaging out of the way:

For a Necklace type of Bluetooth IEM, Dual Driver ANC PRO has a nice large package, coming with what I could call the most flashy package for this type of product.

They never disappoint with their packages, and if you need a really good looking product to gift to someone, then 1More makes just the thing for you, both product and sonics.

Youtube Video

It has been a long while, but I did video review them.

Build Quality/Aesthetics/Fit/Comfort

For a necklace, there’s quite a bit to talk about, starting with the flexible band that goes around your neck. If all feels really high-end and well made, but the best part are the controls, which are all buttons and not touch based, so you never make a mis-touch. The controls can be a bit cumbersome to get to, and it has always been simpler for me to use my phone to change songs and control the volume.

Dual Driver ANC PRO has ANC or active noise cancelling, with two levels of it, and it works fairly well without degrading the music quality as much as older devices featuring it. It does degrade battery life quite a bit, and in my actual usage, almost at maximum, using aptX or LDAC, I get about 6-8 hours of music. Adding ANC cuts the time by about 30%, but it also offers almost 30 dB of isolation on all frequencies.

Speaking of which, the earbuds are magnetic and make a complete necklace around your neck, offering one of the most intuitive and fun ways of storing them while not in usage. They also have a hybrid design, with one dynamic driver and one balanced armature for each ear.

I have been very satisfied with the comfort of the Dual Driver ANC PRO, and I consider them to be in line with most IEMs priced similarly in terms of comfort. Even better, the microphone quality they have is close to high-end Plantronics bluetooth headsets, and you could safely take calls and have a reliable headset with the Dual Driver ANC PRO.

With IPX5, we have excellent reliability of the whole setup, and although I would complain about the battery, they have a type-C connector, and charge really quickly, offering a good balance of not having to keep them plugged in, but being able to use them. You can connect them to a PC as a USB DAC, and there is even a cable that has a 3.5mm to Type-c so you can use them from a line out, if you’re not happy with the overall performance of the Bluetooth connection.

This being said, the Bluetooth connection has been stable for me. The tips are custom, bore shape is oval, and you can’t use any other tips. This being said, the overall comfort is ok and they sit nicely in my ears, even better than most other IEMs.

Sound Quality

The general sonic presentation of the Dual Driver ANC PRO is similar to all the other 1More IEMs, with a thicker, warmer, bassier presentation, but this time around they also introduced some sparkle in the treble, and the overall sound is wide and punchy, very detailed and clean.

The bass is large, deep and rounded. It is not the most thumpy type, and if you’re looking for more sub bass, the Stylish TWS from 1More have a bit more sub-lows extension, but if you’re looking for a fair amount of quality, and a clean stock presentation, then the Dual Driver ANC PRO is quite excellent.

The midrange is clean, and wide. There’s a natural vocal presentation, leaning towards a bright one, with good overall texture and excellent detail. The sound can be a bit fatiguing thanks to some extra textures in the midrange and treble, and they can be said to have a bit of grain. Maximum volume is really satisfying, they do not distort even at high volumes, and for 150 USD the sound is really satisfying.

Although most of the time 1More meant less treble, the new Dual Driver ANC pro adds the extra sparkle and extension, making the whole signature of the Dual Driver ANC PRO really clear, clean, crisp and detailed. They are a V-Shaped sounding IEM for sure, or even U-Shaped if you feel adventurous and want to call them that, but the treble extends really well, and the wide stage completes the signature.

Because the sound is a big aggressive, it works best with EDM, Pop, Dubstep, and Metal. Jazz and Classical can sound thin and too bright.

Comparisons

The main comparisons will be with Master & Dynamic MW07 TWS IEMS (150 USD), Sennheiser M2 IEBT (200 USD), and Shuoer Tape PRO (150 USD). There are more options in this price range, but very few companies make the necklace type of IEMs nowadays, as they are all trying to appeal to the TWS crowd.

1More Dual Driver ANC PRO vs Master & Dynamic MW07 (150 USD vs 150 USD) – I actually love the MW07 to bits, but unless we’re talking about the more pricey Go version, I do think that Dual Driver ANC pro provides a better detail and resolution. MW07 has a thicker sound with more bass, but Dual Driver has more treble, more energy, a cleaner midrange, more resolution, and a wider soundstage. It is wild how much the sonics have changed even for Master & Dynamic since their first MW07, and they now make pretty popular high-end TWS IEMs, but if you want to stick to this 150 USD budget, then Dual Driver ANC PRO are a really good option to go for.

1More Dual Driver ANC PRO vs Sennheiser M2 IEBT (150 USD vs 200 USD) – M2 IEBT is similarly comfortable to Dual Driver ANC PRO, and they have been waiting their chance to get out of the closet for years now, only to be compared in a review, and go back in. Despite having a signature that reminds me of IE800, which I loved to bits, M2 IEBT are too bright to really recommend, and too sibilant. 1 More Dual Driver ANC PRO (they really need to shorten their names somehow), sound much more natural, with more bass, a thicker, more natural midrange, but a similarly hype and bright treble. If you’re used to M2 IEBT, then Dual Driver ANC PRO will sound like a nice upgrade to your ears, adding the bass and body that was missing from your music. The bluetooth connection and protocols, plus BT 5 are better on Dual Driver ANC PRO for sure, and M2 IEBT feels antiquitated by now

1More Dual Driver ANC PRO vs Shuoer Tape PRO (150 USD vs 150 USD) – Even though Tape PRO is wired, even driving them from a high-end source like iBasso DX300, I still mostly prefer the sonic presentation from 1More Dual Driver ANC PRO driven via bluetooth. This is because Dual Driver ANC PRO has more depth to music, a wider soundstage, and a less metallic, less fatiguing, more natural sounding treble, Tape PRO being quite thin in the midrange, and providing an odd sonic. I liked the original Shuoer Tape though, and having / using wired IEMS does open some doors for you, but if you want a necklace, Shanling sells a very similar one to Dual Driver ANC PRO for about 120 USD, so you would have to use 30 USD worth of IEMs…

Value and Conclusion

We can safely say that the value of the Dual Driver ANC PRO is excellent, and that you’ll have trouble finding something much better for the money, and I can safely say that if you want a necklace type of bluetooth IEM, this one is really good. There are more bluetooth IEMs out there, but most of them come with some problems, and nothing is perfect in this world.

For an awesome package, good comfort and a clean, squeaky sound with good detail and a wide stage, Dual Driver ANC pro does pretty well. I even postponed this review for about a year, thanks to having a really full schedule, so I’m happy to finally be able to share it with you. If you could use any of the purchase links in the review, it would help me eat for one more day and be able to afford the materials to keep improving and making more video works as well as written reviews for you.

At the end of today’s review, if you’re looking for a V-Shaped sounding IEM that can be appreciated by almost everyone for the money, if you want a necklace, and if you’re looking for a good performance for the price, 1 More Dual Driver ANC PRO is a great choice even now, in 2021, and I expect them to be a good choice in 2022 as well.
