ddHIFI HS270 is a 85 USD Headphone Stand with a weather finish, made in the universal color brown, or in the black color we have here, to celebrate the 2023 Year Of The Rabbit. Today we will talk a bit about this headphone stand and explore whether it would be a good purchase for a music lover.
Introduction
ddHIFI is a popular choice for audiophiles looking to spice up their setup, as DD HIFI creates the best accessories for the best prices, offering one of the strongest price / performance ratios you can find in this hobby. As such, they have been picked up by most HiFi shops, and are now available on Amazon as well as most HiFi purchase sources, including Aliexpress. PROs – Good balance, does not tip over, and offers a reliable product to hold your headphones, without stretching them in any way. Quality Cowhide leather, with a steel base offers a high quality product that looks nice and combines with most rooms.
Cons – One of the pricier headphone stands, and the black color I have only matches well with black headphones.

Build Quality/Aesthetics/Fit/Comfort
While I typically would not make a whole article about a headphone stand, I now have a couple of them. They appear quite a bit in our latest set of photos and people have been asking me to formally review those, compare them and explore which is the best. HS270 is a really heavy headphone stand, with 493 grams of weight, most of it in the base frame which is made of Genuine Leather and Steel.
The screws are made of genuine steel, while the support rod is made of aluminum, with a genuine leather and aluminum alloy head beam frame. The stand is quite tall at 270mm, and the base frame has a large diameter of 102mm. As ddHIFI is a proper company for accessories, the best part about the HS270 is that it is about an inch taller than most headphone stands, which offers more space for the headphone cables, to avoid stressing the connectors at the headphone side.
The base of the stand alone weighs 360 grams, being heavier than about half headphones out there, easily countering their weight, and allowing for excellent stability, with very low probability of the headphones tipping over. Even better, the design places the support beam at the center, with more than 75% of the weight being in the base. As a practical effect, if you lean the headphone stand even by more than 20 degrees, it will return to an upright position. In the photos you can see a few models including HIFIMAN Audivina and Aune AR5000, but I have used this stand for heavy headphones like Audeze LCD-5 as well, or HIFIMAN HE1000SE. You likely have noticed it in more reviews, so now you know the full name of the model.
While this is not essential for every single user, I like to have a place to return my headphones to after usage, and HS270 has the headband designed to be wide and offer a proper radian that will support the head pad of the headphones, without deforming them, like thinner models would do. The genuine cowhide leather also helps protect the headphones and the sponge on the inside should make it a bit soft, to avoid long-term storage deformation from occurring.
In my subjective experience, I generally find the HS270 to be almost the most reliable headphone stand I have, tall enough for all headphones to protect their cables, with an excellent balance. As we will explore later on, ddHIFI released a few versions that have a space to store the cable of the headphones as well, but HS270, the original variant does not have a dedicated cable storage solution, being more of a great stand to place on top of a larger DAC AMP to also store the headphones and avoid scratching the DAC / AMP.
The base has a soft material on the bottom which will keep all your products scratch free, and this is I think the most important aspect of the HS270, it strongly protects all your headphones, DACs, cables, connectors from scratching, making it ideal for long-term usage even for the most paranoic of users who want to keep their products in pristine condition. Value and Conclusion
It is easy to overlook the value when reviewing a headphone stand, but I always recommend purchasing products from companies who have experience in the field, and ddHIFI offers us a reliable headphone stand, with an excellent build quality, beautiful design, and most importantly, high protection from scratches or deformation for the headphones.
As such, ddHIFI HS270 is an essential accessory if you need a way to display your headphones vertically, to store them and keep them in pristine condition for years to come, and a fully recommended headphone stand, that I personally use on a daily basis.
