Miter Multi Earphone Transport Case – Leather Protects Sound

Miter Multi Earphone Transport Case – Leather Protects Sound

Miter Multi Earphone Transport Case is a $80 USD Transport Case with options for larger or smaller cases on the market, to satisfy one’s needs for transport. Today we will explore if those cases are a good option for your and why I’ve been storing most of my IEMS inside them, especially when taking them out for photo shoots.

Introduction

Miter is a brand we have not seen recently on Audiophile-Heaven, and the reason is that they mainly create leather cases, and usually there was a mismatch between the models I am reviewing and the models supported by Miter. This being said, Miter is a popular and reliable brand, and if they ever start making smartphone cases, I will be the first to grab one for my S23 Ultra. As an Amazon Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases, and using the purchase links in my reviews helps me maintain this website and Youtube Channel. Huge thanks to Miter for providing the sample for this review, in exchange for my honest opinion.

PROs – Strong protection for your IEMS, with a beautiful design and soft material on the inside that keeps IEMs and DAPs protected. Enough space for multiple IEMs or even multiple DAPs, with good prices. Multiple size and color options. Strong price performance option with a reliable qaliuty for the price paid.

Cons – If you have just one DAP or one pair of IEMS, the space is excessive.

Multi Carrying Case-Indigo Blue

Transport / Storage cases for IEMS arrive as a necessity as most audiophiles also have a soft side for collecting IEMs, and you can’t just have them all lying on your desk at random. In fact, to protect your IEMS, you should keep them away from moisture, as that can damage the very sensitive internal electronic crossovers, and you also want to include a little bag of silica wherever you’re storing them for the best degree of protection.

Today we actually have three different cases for review, but as they lack a code name, we have to share the links for the reviews and hope it is inherently evident which is which. The Miter Carrying Case for DAP + Earphone has enough space for 6 pairs of earphones or 4 pairs of earphones and a DAP. All Miter cases are handmade, and they protect all the items inside from shock and damage during transport, and if you close it, and add a little bag of silica, they also protect your IEMS and DAPs from moisture damage.

Despite the name having an italian sound to it, Miter cases are made in Korea, and this brings us back to the original point where due to some internal restructuring of Astell & Kern, we had issues getting in touch and reviewing their DAPs, but Miter being from Korea generally makes cases for all Astell & Kern DAPs. This being said, the size of the case is 260mm x 185mm x 57mm. I can fit about three of them in a backpack, which I actually do when I go out to take photos.

From the photos you see, this larger case is the Blue one in our review today, although you can purchase it in either Indigo Blue or Gray. And inside the case the separators use soft velcro connectors, and you can rearrange them as needed. There is enough space for 6 pairs of IEMS, including their transport case, and for me it is important to not throw all the transport cases in my backpack, as I did this and have damaged the transport cases of quite a few IEMS over the years.

I always keep a bag of silica in the case, and sometimes I keep one inside the transport case of each IEM for the best degree of protection from moisture, but I will also share a few extra photos of this larger case to showcase its quality. This is my favorite as it offers the most space for IEMS and Earphones, but may be overkill for someone with a smaller collection.

The 4 Earphones Miter Transport case

I also have the smaller 4 Earphone Transport Case in Black (more of a gray color). This one is smaller than the 6 Earphone Transport case, measuring 183mm x 189mm x 50mm. It is thinner, narrower and in person looks almost square compared to the larger one which has a side that is clearly larger. All Miter cases are made in Korea, and they are made with Italian PU Synthetic leather, Suede. Like the previous case, it has a magnetic mechanism that keeps it closed, and it protects IEMS and DAPs from Fingerprints, shocks, scratches and weight damage.

You can press with a lot of force on the case without it giving in, resisting to almost 100KG of weight when stepped on. This should be excellent if you throw it in a backpage and mistakenly sit on said backpack, and I noticed that all Miter cases are far more resistant to wear and tear damage than IEM transport cases. I am talking about keeping those in a backpack, where I tend to thrash the case a lot, creating friction between them, and sometimes with hard metallic objects, camera tripods, yet both cases look pristine, just like the 1st day I got them.

Like with the larger brother, you can rearrange the guts and separators of the smaller case, and this one comes with two colorful cable separators, if you want to store just the IEMS inside, without the IEM original transport case. There is enough space for one large DAP, and two pairs of IEMS, 4 pairs of IEMS or multiple products, including camera equipment. If you are likely to transport a DAC AMP stack or setup, a case like this will keep items separated and protect each one of them from scratches. The inside of the case is made from a soft material that will keep any item placed inside scratch free. At this point I wish Miter made a transport case for headphones, as that would surely come in handy. Let’s explore a few extra shots from my photoshoot of the gray smaller transport case.

MITER Case for IEM Earphone Cable Jack Accessory Earbuds AK XB10

Last but not least, we have a transport case with a name, and the AK XB10 is an earphone transport case that is hard as nails, and which is helpful for the times you have a pair of IEMS that came with no transport case, but which you want to keep safe and treasure. This little IEM Transport case is practical, fits inside of the larger cases and will protect your IEMS from scratches and damage, also offering you peace of mind.

The materials for the smaller IEM case are Italian Artificial PU Leather, with a Nylex inside and PC Frame. The case has a magnetic lip that allows it to be securely closed, and is very hard, offering strong protection for IEMs. Thankfully, this one is affordable and a food replacement for the default IEM case you typically receive with IEMS.

Let us explore a few more photos I managed to snatch.

Value and Conclusion

While transport cases are not the 1st thing on everyone’s mind when it comes to their next audiophile purchase, I can assure you it is an essential and much-needed product to keep your earphones, DAPs and DACs safe, especially if you travel. The only alternative I found while placing multiple IEMS and Headphones in a backpack was to wrap them in T-shirts or socks, but those transport / Carrying cases from Miter can be life savers, and will keep your IEMS and DAPs safe and sound.

At the end of the day it is hard to argue against the Miter cases, and if you need them, they have all the quality, reliability and beautiful design you can expect from a transport case, being a fully recommended purchase and a solution I have used a lot over the past 6 months as I keep going out to take photos for reviews.

We listened to more songs than those named in this playlist, but those are excellent for identifying a sonic signature.  I recommend trying most of the songs from this playlist, especially if you’re searching for new music! The playlists are different for Spotify, Tidal and Youtube, and based on the songs I enjoy and are available on each!
