ddHiFi C2023 Side Bag / C100 Transport Case – Useful In Many Ways
ddHiFi C2023 is a $59 USD Carrying Case / Side Bag designed for audiophiles, with multiple pockets and storage spaces. We will also be exploring the ddHiFi C100, a different transport bag designed for IEMs, which is tightly connected to the C2023 by having the same color scheme, same materials used in the build, and usually being purchased together with C2023 to store In-Ear Monitors and portable earphones.
Introduction
I’ve used the C2023 to store my wallet, Smartphone, Car Keys, and other accessories, including a heavyweight stack of iBasso D16 + iBasso PB5, and even Astell & Kern ACRO CA1000T, so I felt it was time I wrote a fuller review about this useful side bag that I’ve used for so long. Build Quality/Aesthetics
ddHiFi is always the number one top company for affordable audiophile accessories, and the new C2023 is a side bag that allows you to easily transport audiophile goods, but also your smartphone, wallet, and basically anything that needs transporting and to be kept safe. During our Trip in Venice, I actually had the passport, wallet and phone beneath my shirt in a C2023 side bag for safekeeping.
You can attach two different labels on it, and both look cool, but you can also paste a sticker to customize the side bag a bit. The shoulder strap has a hook used to hang water bottles, flashlights, umbrellas, and also you can hook the cable of your IEMs / Headphones through the shoulder strap to reduce the handling noise of the cable.
You can unzip the extension zipper to extend the storage space, but it makes the side bag looser and I only use this function when needed. There are multiple watts to hook the transport bag, but my most used has been symmetrical top hooking for a side bag usage.
The Zipper is a YKK Metal Slider + ddHiFi DrawString, while the weight of the side bag is about 390 grams. The Bottom is made of black cowhide leather, and the lining is made of 150D polyester, while the fabric is made of 1680D double Strand Nylon.
Subjective Usage
As much as I want to just say this, ddHiFi is making some crazy statements, but they are all true, and I have to humbly admit that I have used C2023 with every single one of them situations described by ddHiFi. So, it really fits the Astell & Kern ACRO CA1000T and I have used the C2023 this way. Sadly, the combo is too heavy to be practical, so eventually I gave up from using it.
The frontal and back part are separate and you can store multiple separate items inside, like I did when traveling with my smartphone, wallet, and a DAP + IEMs. The space is literally enough to store a 500ml water bottle, and I did this too while traveling and using the C2023. The frontal pocket is great for keys and mini objects, including camera batteries. The case is plenty useful if you want just a lightweight bag to carry, or something to keep close with valuables instead of storing them in unsecure pockets, or in a backpack.
The entire side bag has braided stitchings on the side and cowhide leather on the base, keeping it stable and reliable even with strenuous usage.
ddHiFi C100
ddHiFi C100 is a simple Transport case for Earphones and IEMs, with a double-layer space and with a cross partition and flexible spacing. There’s a thick sponge on the inside which separates the two IEMS, ensuring they do not scratch during transport. For example, I have placed the Letshuoer Cadenza 12 inside to make sure they do not scratch, and even after a long wear time, they are still safe.
The lower layer is made of a hard material surrounded by a thick sponge. You can actually take out the cross pad in the center to get one large storage space instead of a smaller area. I have used the C100 in the same way as C2023, and for my usage, it has been serving the same purpose, to transport IEMs, although C100 usually sits in my backpack keeping my IEMs safe and cosy.
The color and outer material is the same between C2023 and C100, which is why I have reviewed them together.
Value and Conclusion
At the end of the day, both transport cases are practical, affordable and fun to use, providing a better experience, and a more versatile storage than most designer bags in the same price range. I can confirm that the material used survives usage, both cases were received in 2023, as the name would suggest, but the photos for this review were taken a couple of days ago, so I had the time to use both extensively, and they look like new.
At the end of the day, ddHiFi delivers high quality transport cases, and both c2023 and C100 are fully recommended if you need a high quality transport case for your IEMS, Smartphone, DAP and everything in between.
