Golden Sound And Gamer Delight Earphones – NF Acous RG15 x Assassin’s Creed Mirage
NF Acous RG15 are a $85 USD pair of IEMs, with detachable cables, a golden metallic body, and a type-c smartphone connector, along with an inline remote with a microphone.
Introduction
With all of the controversy that’s currently around the latest Assassin’s Creed game, it is a good moment to explore a collab pair of earphones, between NFAcous and Ubisoft, so this time we have golden IEMs in for review, with a strong theme for gamers. This is a limited edition product generally available just in Japan and Australia. This is the first collaboration between Nf Acous / Nf Audio and a gaming company, but I am looking forward to hearing more.
As an Amazon Influencer, I earn from qualifying purchases, and using the purchase links in my reviews helps me maintain this website and Youtube Channel. Huge thanks to Nf Acous for providing us with the sample for this review.

Build Quality / Aesthetics
NF Acous RG15 is very similar to NF Acous RA05, but this is a more premium product, as it has metallic shells, detachable cables, but this also means that they are heavier and have a slightly lower comfort compared to RA05. Those beautiful shells are Gold Plated, and a lot of the collaboration is actually for the aesthetic design of the RG15.
We are seeing the MC2L-10m Dynamic Driver, with a different tuning, and a different acoustic room compared to RA05, but we get a high quality MEMS Microphone, and a USB Type-C connector to plug the RG15 into your smartphone, but with DSP Digital Tuning. The cable you’re seeing is user replaceable, and it uses the QDC 2-Pin Jacket connector.
NF Audio RG15 promises to offer a SPL of 108dB/mW, an Impedance of 32 OHMs, and an insulation of -25 dB. The distortion is noted to be <1%, and I am actually getting less passive noise isolation, around 10 dB, as there is a lot of ventilation. Happily this also means that RG15 has no driver flex or void when being worn.
Sound Quality
Overall Signature – There is no pairings part as this is an entry-level IEM and it uses a type-C connector, so I mainly have used my Samsung S24 Ultra to drive the RG15 IEMS. While it is possible to change the cable and power them using a DAP, the situation is unlinely to happen to any gamer, let alone considering RG15 is sold only in Australia and Japan. The overall signature is neutral – balanced – clean, different from the much warmer, bassier sound of the NF Acous RA05. We get a very sharp and airy treble with a strong presence in the upper treble and great overall dynamics as well as a high resolution.
Bass – We start right at the bottom, where bass reaches the 30 Hz point quite nicely, but it is fairly neutral in quantity and presentation, being good if you want to hear a few dB above the neutrality line, but not too much extra bass. There’s a good sense of kick and dynamics in the sound, with a full and warm tone, slow decay, but the overall quantity feels balanced and just right, edging on neutral more than it approaches a warm and lush sound.
Midrange – NF Acous designed the RG15 to sound fairly balanced – neutral in the midrange too, with a true to life presentation to both male and female voices, clean tone, and a fairly strong resolution / sharpness. There’s a good sense of space in the sound, and the tonality seems to emphasize female voices slightly over male voices, with a slightly stronger upper midrange compared to the lower midrange, but in general the sound is very balanced and close to absolute neutrality.
Treble – With a sharp, clean and well extended treble, NFAcous RG15 is a really sharp, extended, airy and even at times bright sounding IEM. This means that you can hear a fairly good amount of shimmer, air and resolution in music.
PRaT / Textures – We get a texture level that is characteristic for the dynamic driver used in RG15, it sounds fairly slow in the decay, giving music a fairly full and natural presentation. This type of texture can be found across all frequency ranges, so even treble is not harsh nor metallic, and the character it presents is more “wet”.
Loudness Saturation Gradient – RG15 is more balanced and the DAC inside struggles much less with volume and punch than the DAC inside of the RA05. There’s a chance that the DPS is configured more closely to the natural impulse response of the driver, and thus RG15 takes advantage of the driver instead of fighting against it with EQ.
Soundstage – Thanks to the sharp treble and clean presentation, the sound of RG15 is spacious, holographic, and they have a strong imaging as well as stereo separation. I find those IEMS to be brilliant for all music styles from rock to metal to EDM.
Value and Conclusion
Although this is a gold plated, limited edition pair of earphones, the price is kept in check and at 85 USD, if you can get your hands on one, and if you’re a fan of the Assassin’s Creed Mirage and generally fan of the series, I recommend considering them either as a collection piece, or just to use on a daily basis, as the sound is fairly nice.
At the end of the day, Nf Acous did make efforts to give a really clean, balanced and neutral sound to the NF Acous RG15 , and they deliver some of the best sonic performance you can grab for the money. RG15 performs really well relative to its price point, the only downside I can see is the rather limited sale area of Australia and Japan.

We listened to more songs than those named in this playlist, but those are excellent for identifying a sonic signature. I recommend trying most of the songs from this playlist, especially if you’re searching for new music!
